This is a descriptor, applied to any other Electric class of racing. The Stock class is restricted to an un-modified ROAR-legal stock motor, having its factory-supplied can and armature. Modified This is a descriptor, applied to any other Electric class of racing. The Modified class can use any 540-size motor. There may be restrictions, like a minimum number of turns or winds. Check with the competition director to be sure. 19-Turn This is a descriptor, applied to any other Electric class of racing. 19-turn is much like Stock, but using 19-turn motors and restricted to motors with that number of turns. Check with the competition director to be sure of any other restrictions (timing, brand, etcetera). Open This is a descriptor, applied to any other Electric class of racing. Not much different from the Modified descriptor, but you can usually be quite certain that there are no specific restrictions on motors with this descriptor applied to a class. Touring Car 1/10-scale, 190mm-wide, 4WD chassis, running 6 cells and sedan-style body shells. 1/12-Scale 1/12-scale, pan-style chassis, running 4 cells and GTP, LMP, or other wedge-style body shells. 1/10-Pan Very similar to the 1/12-scale class, just larger and running 6 cells. Nitro Touring 1/10-scale, 200mm-wide, 4wd chassis, running fuel-powered engines and sedan-style body shells. 1/8 On-Road A very specialized racing class,1/8-scale on-road is widely considered to be the 'Formula 1' of R/C racing. Large nitro engines on 4WD chassis, sporting large wedge-style shells, these cars can easily throw down 80km/h. Novice "Run Whatcha Brung" This class is set up for new and inexperienced drivers, You can bring and race whatever chassis you want to, but there will soon be a specified motor for this class, to cut down on the speeds and related damage. If the Race Director or Competition Director decides that a novice driver's skill has advanced sufficiently, that driver will be bumped up, and required to choose one of the other classes. "GT" Started in Lethbridge I believe, this is an interesting budget class for racing. Essentially you can run any 1/10 touring-size chassis, as long as it has rubber tires and a "silver can" Mabuchi or Johnson motor - the kind that comes stock in most Tamiya car kits. Batteries are restricted to match the rules for the current year's Western Canadian Indoor Carpet Series (aka WCICS).
